Desert Mission holds back-to-school backpack and supply drive

Desert Mission, which offers a variety of programs to meet the basic needs of members of the Phoenix community, is conducting a Back to School Backpack and School Supply Drive that supports approximately 300 students in the Washington Elementary and Paradise Valley school districts.

You can help by donating needed supplies. The most common needs include backpacks, metric rulers, washable markers, subject dividers (five-pack), individual hand-held pencil sharpeners, college-ruled notebook paper, blunt-tip scissors, 24-pack Crayons and No. 2 pencils.

Please drop donated items off at Desert Mission Food Bank, 9229 N. Fourth St., Phoenix, by Friday, July 20, 2018.

Food Bank hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, and 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday.
