Southwest Pediatric Endocrinology provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pediatric endocrine services. The specialty practice has integrated its diabetes program with HonorHealth's Diabetes Education Center. Because both practices are in the same location, they are able to offer full-service care to children and adolescents with diabetes as well as their families.

Southwest Pediatric Endocrinology also offers the latest in technological advances, such as insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring, management of precocious puberty and electronic medical records that allow remote access from anywhere in the world to help provide up-to-date, coordinated care.

Please call 480-323-4800, option 3, for more information.

Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies

HonorHealth also offers physical, occupational and speech therapists.

Physical Therapy promotes independent functioning and restoration of normal joint functions. Therapists use specialized techniques such as mobility and balance training, strengthening and sports/play therapy.

Occupational Therapy addresses deficits hindering a child's progression through normal development in activities of daily living. An upper extremity specialist treats orthopedic disorders and provides post-surgical rehabilitation. Speech therapy offers treatment for speech/language, feeding and oral-motor challenges. Audiology services also are available.

Pediatric Endoscopy and Imaging Services

Endoscopy involves visualizing a patient's organs by placing an instrument called an endoscope into the body. An endoscope is a long, thin, flexible (or rigid) tube with a light and video camera. Images of the inside of the patient's body can be seen on a screen. Anesthesiologists provide sedation for endoscopy procedures.

Parents can schedule general pediatric imaging and pediatric MRIs if prescribed by a doctor. Anesthesiologists also are available to administer sedation for these procedures if it will make a child more comfortable.
