Pharmacy Residency

HonorHealth Academic Affairs Pharmacy Residency Program

HonorHealth's two Post-Graduate Year One, Pharmacy Residency Programs at Scottsdale Shea and Osborn Medical Center and John C. Lincoln Medical Center are accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. The Post-Graduate Year Two Critical Care program at Scottsdale Shea and Osborn Medical Center is pending accreditation.

How to Apply

HonorHealth’s PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Programs will build on Doctor of Pharmacy education in order to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists, responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for post-graduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

The HonorHealth Scottsdale Medical Centers PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Practice Residency Program will build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and Post-Graduate-Year 1 pharmacy residency programs in order to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists in advanced or specialized practice. Pharmacists completing the PGY2 Critical Care Residency Program will be able to integrate pharmaceutical care as a component of the total care and management of patients requiring drug therapy in multiple critical care settings. Residents will be provided the opportunity to function independently as practitioners by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experience and knowledge and incorporating both into provision of patient care that improves quality of medication therapy and achievement of optimal clinical outcomes. Residents will demonstrate leadership skills and professional maturity by following a personal philosophy of practice, monitoring their own performance, exhibiting commitment to the profession, and exercising leadership in improving the safety of the medication-use system.

If you're interested in pursuing a residency at HonorHealth, you need to participate in the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists' Resident Matching Program and submit an application electronically through the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS).

Submit an application for the matching program by visiting ashp.org/phorcas. Competitive candidates will be emailed for a personal interview that will take place between January and March.
