HonorHealth is expanding Qventus PAT Assist, an AI-supported solution currently in use at HonorHealth Sonoran Crossing and John C. Lincoln medical centers, across the network. The tool supports pre-admission testing (PAT) workflows and helps identify potential barriers before surgery, reducing the risk of last-minute cancellations. The network-wide expansion is scheduled to begin a phased rollout within the next month, with specific campus go-live dates announced as they are finalized.
What surgeons should know
As part of the pre-surgical process, PAT teams will begin using automated text messages to collect information, send reminders and help patients complete required pre-op steps. These messages are separate from MyChart and Epic. Depending on their cell carrier, patients may receive texts from an unfamiliar or numeric phone number. Consider giving patients a brief heads-up, so they know to expect these messages and do not mistake them for spam. Physicians and APPs can also direct patients to the HonorHealth surgery digital assistant page for more information. Patients may be invited to complete a pre-op health history questionnaire by text. Participation is optional, and they can opt out at any time. Based on questionnaire completion, patients may receive:
- A full PAT phone call
- A focused call to address missing information
- No PAT phone call for select low-risk cases and patients with a low-risk medical history; patients may still request one if preferred
