Overview

The goal of the PM&R specialist, also known as a physiatrist, is to restore and enhance function for patients who have physical disabilities caused by an accident or a neurological impairment caused by a stroke or a brain or spinal cord injury.

You may be referred to a PM&R specialist because you have a disability affecting your bones, joints, ligaments, spinal cord, muscles, tendons or brain.

Your PM&R specialist designs a treatment plan to decrease your pain and enhance your abilities without surgery. The plan may include medications as well as physical therapy.

Rheumatology and PM&R specialists in this office treat patients 18 and older. The office is part of the larger HonorHealth Center Glendale campus, which features a radiology and infusion center.

Specialty Care staff work with insurance and drug companies to ensure patients get the medications they need when they need them.
