Overview
The goal of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) specialist, also known as a physiatrist, is to restore and enhance function for patients who have physical disabilities caused by an accident or a neurological impairment caused by a stroke or a brain or spinal cord injury.
You may be referred to a PM&R specialist because you have a disability affecting your bones, joints, ligaments, spinal cord, muscles, tendons or brain.
Your PM&R specialist designs a treatment plan to decrease your pain and enhance your abilities without surgery. The plan may include medications as well as physical therapy.
Our specialists in this office treat patients 18 and older. The office is part of the larger HonorHealth Peoria Medical Campus, which features a radiology and infusion center.
Our staff works with insurance and drug companies to ensure that you get the medications you need when you need them.
