About

David Jaffe, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon with specialized expertise in complex lower limb reconstruction. He brings extensive experience in revision surgery, total ankle replacement, deformity correction, Charcot reconstruction and limb salvage procedures. Dr. Jaffe earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Maryland Department of Orthopedic Surgery and pursued fellowship training in orthopedic foot and ankle surgery at Baylor University.

Dr. Jaffe provides comprehensive orthopedic foot and ankle care with clinical interests in complex lower limb reconstruction including revision surgery, total ankle replacement, deformity correction, Charcot reconstruction and limb salvage. He performs complex reconstruction procedures and is one of few orthopedic surgeons who utilize Ilizarov frames routinely as part of his practice for complex cases, limb lengthening and limb salvage situations. Despite his focus on complex reconstruction, Dr. Jaffe maintains a conservative approach and often emphasizes nonoperative management of orthopedic conditions of the foot and ankle when appropriate.

Dr. Jaffe's approach to orthopedic care centers on tailoring treatments to patients rather than just imaging findings. He strongly believes that good outcomes are driven by addressing each patient's specific concerns and using a focus on their history and physical exam to determine a unique, appropriate treatment plan together with the patient. His philosophy emphasizes collaborative decision-making that aligns surgical expertise with individual patient goals and circumstances.

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Jaffe is a father of two boys. He enjoys building small models in his spare time, perhaps an extension of his fondness for external fixation devices, bringing the same precision and attention to detail from his personal interests to his surgical practice.
