About

Joseph Georges, DO, PhD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon specializing in minimally invasive neurosurgery and the treatment of brain and spine tumors. He is dedicated to providing personalized, patient-centered care, tailoring treatment plans to each patient’s diagnosis, goals, and preferences. Dr. Georges combines advanced surgical expertise with a strong foundation in translational research, offering access to both established therapies and innovative treatment options when appropriate.

With more than 25 years of experience in neuroscience and neuro-oncology research, Dr. Georges has contributed to the development of novel therapies for brain tumors. His clinical focus includes the surgical management of primary and metastatic brain tumors, using advanced imaging, neuronavigation, and minimally invasive techniques to maximize tumor removal while preserving neurological function. When appropriate, he utilizes surgical approaches that involve smaller incisions and minimal to no hair removal, supporting excellent cosmetic outcomes while maintaining the highest standard of safety and effectiveness.

In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Georges is actively involved in clinical research and the development of emerging therapies for complex brain and spine tumors. He helps eligible patients explore participation in clinical trials investigating promising new treatment approaches, including immunotherapy strategies, CAR T-cell therapies for glioblastoma, and dendritic cell vaccine therapies designed to harness the immune system to fight cancer.

Dr. Georges has received national recognition for his work in brain tumor diagnostics and treatment innovation, with publications in leading scientific journals including Nature Medicine, and the Rosenblum-Mahaley Award from the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He believes exceptional patient care is built on compassion, communication, and trust, and works closely with each patient and their loved ones to ensure they feel informed, supported, and confident in their care.
