About
Kevin Brady, MD, is a cardiothoracic surgeon with expertise in mechanical circulatory support, structural heart disease and adult congenital heart disease. He is the owner of Southwest Heart and Lung in Phoenix, where he has cared for patients since 2002. He previously served as chief of cardiac surgery and surgical director of mechanical circulatory support at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Brady provides comprehensive care in structural heart disease, including aortic and mitral valve conditions, and offers specialized treatments such as valve-sparing aortic root replacement (David procedure), aortic root replacement (Bentall procedure) and minimally invasive mitral valve repair. He performs off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting with arterial conduits and treats adult congenital heart conditions, including coronary artery anomalies, partial anomalous pulmonary venous return and AV canal repair, in collaboration with Phoenix Children's Hospital.
A high-volume cardiac surgeon, Dr. Brady performs more than 200 CABG procedures and 160 to 200 TAVR procedures each year, with a particular focus on mitral valve repair, complex aortic reconstruction, anomalous coronary artery repair and hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy.
Dr. Brady's approach to cardiac surgery centers on a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach that combines surgical expertise with medical, social and rehabilitation support. He works closely with patients and their families throughout the recovery process and emphasizes coordinated care that extends well beyond the operating room.
Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Brady now calls Phoenix home. Born in New York and raised in Ireland during his school years, he developed a lifelong love of travel that he now shares with his family. An avid runner for many years, he now enjoys playing pickleball.
