Maya Thosani, MD

Dr. Thosani believes in treating the patient as a whole and understanding the influencing factors in their lives that necessitate a personalized approach. Her areas of expertise relate to cutaneous oncology, and surgical dermatology.During her residency training she split time evenly between the University Hospital, VA Hospital, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) where she learned from top researchers, and some of the world experts in dermoscopy (a non-invasive tool for diagnosis of skin cancer).Since that time 15yrs ago, she has performed over 15,000 Mohs surgeries, and countless other benign and malignant excisions.

Outside of medicine, Dr Thosani loves spending time with her husband and three children, planning adventure trips as often as possible!  She loves taking trips to go hiking, golfing, skiing, and planning weekly movie/game nights. When not working and spending time with her family, you can find her practicing early morning yoga, exercising, or cooking an elaborate feast for friends/family in her kitchen.

Dr Thosani provides a personalized and integrative approach to patient care. She strives to incorporate advances in modern medicine to give patients cutting edge treatment in a multidisciplinary environment. She understands the discomfort and anxious thoughts that accompany a skin problem, and prides herself on her bedside manner to make patients truly feel at ease. Whether it's engaging the children who have "white coat syndrome” or relaxing the self-conscious elderly patient who comes for their first skin exam - Dr. Thosani makes patients of any age feel secure and supported. One of her specialties is performing discrete, but conclusive, biopsies as needed that heal with minimal to no scarring of the patients. Surgically she has advanced training in reconstruction, the results of which, have created a following amongst her patients.
