About

Dr. Puneet Raman was born in Mesa, Arizona, and raised in Chandler. He earned dual undergraduate degrees in Biology and History from Duke University before receiving his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix.

He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Mayo Clinic Arizona, followed by fellowship training in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he served as Chief Fellow. His academic work has focused on advancing health equity in cancer care and improving physician-patient communication in oncology training.

Dr. Raman co-developed and implemented a novel, fellow-driven communication skills curriculum designed to strengthen how oncology trainees discuss complex diagnoses, prognosis, and treatment decisions. This work was presented at the ASCO Annual Meeting and reflects his commitment to clear, compassionate, patient-centered care.
His research spans gastrointestinal and genitourinary malignancies, precision oncology, and treatment-related metabolic complications, with publications in the Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, Frontiers in Oncology, and Annals of Oncology.

Dr. Raman specializes in Hematology and Medical Oncology and delivers personalized, evidence-based care through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach with careful attention to quality of life.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling, in particular to Japan, plant-based cooking, strength training, and spending time with his husky-shepherd mixed rescue dog, Cosmo.
