About

Dr. Alex Westerband is a vascular surgeon specialized in minimally invasive endovascular treatment of venous and arterial pathologies. These include varicose veins, cosmetic treatment of spider veins using laser and other assisted technologies, acute and chronic deep vein thrombosis or occlusions, carotid stroke prevention, complications of peripheral vascular and arterial diseases, and endovascular treatment of aortic and other peripheral aneurysms. He is also highly experienced in the management of situations requiring open surgical treatment, including vascular trauma.

Dr. Westerband is board-certified in both vascular and general surgery, with a vascular fellowship at University of Arizona, surgical training at Case Western Reserve University (Ohio) and Long Island Jewish Medical Center (New York) and prior medical education in his native Haiti and at University Louis Pasteur Strasbourg (France). He is a former Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of Arizona and has authored or co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed clinical and research articles and book chapters.
