Evernorth Care Group transition information

HonorHealth expands primary care across the Valley

At HonorHealth your health and well-being come first. To strengthen that commitment, we have signed an agreement to acquire select Evernorth Care Group locations, expanding access to trusted care across the Valley.

Evernorth Care Group and HonorHealth remain separate until closing, which is expected to occur in January 2026. This page will keep you updated and supported as the transition moves forward.

HonorHealth accepts most insurance plans at its hospitals and care centers, including Cigna Healthcare. For more information on the insurance plans we accept, please visit our insurance page.

We continue to work closely with Evernorth Care Group as we prepare to acquire 11 Phoenix-based Evernorth Care Group locations, with completion expected in January 2026.

To support a smooth transition for the physicians and team members joining HonorHealth, we plan to temporarily close all 11 locations in early January 2026.

Please review the temporary closure dates for each location.

Most physicians and APPs practicing at these sites will transfer to a nearby HonorHealth Primary Care center. Please see our Physician Directory to see where your doctor will be relocating.

You will not need to request your medical records to be seen by your physician when they transition to HonorHealth. General medical information will be securely transferred as part of the transition. Please connect with your physician to determine if a medical record transfer is necessary.

Following the transaction finalizing, Evernorth will continue to securely maintain your historical medical records for a duration according to local records retention laws.

You’ll be able to access your historical medical records through your Evernorth Care Group MyChart account through March 31, 2026.  After that time, please call 480-345-5171 or email evernorthcaremedicalrecords@evernorth.com to request copies of your records.

Q: What is happening?

A: In September, HonorHealth announced an agreement to acquire Evernorth Care Group locations. Upon completion of the transaction in January 2026, patients of Evernorth Care Group will have more options for high-quality care through the HonorHealth network of hospitals and clinics throughout the Valley.

Q: When will this change take effect?

A: The acquisition is expected to be finalized in January 2026.

Q: Why is HonorHealth acquiring Evernorth Care Group?

A: This acquisition enables us to offer more locations, services and providers to support our growing communities, while keeping the high-quality primary care you know and trust.

Q: Will patients still be able to see their current doctor?

A: Yes. Until the transaction finalizes, patients can continue seeing their Evernorth Care Group doctor.  In January, many Evernorth Care Group physicians will join HonorHealth.

For most of you, same physician, same location: You can continue your care with no changes.

For some of you, same physician, new location: You’ll be able to follow your physician to their new HonorHealth location.

If your physician is not joining HonorHealth, you can transition to a physician at HonorHealth following close or request to have your records transitioned elsewhere to a physician of your choosing. We’ll contact you if any scheduled appointments require changes, and you will be informed when the change in locations occurs.

Q: What is the plan for transitioning a patient’s care?

A: Nothing changes immediately, and you should continue with your existing care plan. HonorHealth and Evernorth Care Group are committed to a smooth transition of patient care upon close. As we near close, a communication and care continuity plan will be implemented so all Evernorth Care Group patients feel supported and have a smooth transition.

Q: Will the pharmacies inside the Evernorth practices remain open after the agreement is finalized with HonorHealth?

A: All nine Evernorth Care Group retail pharmacies currently remain open and continue to fulfill new and existing prescriptions until mid-December, at which time, patients’ prescriptions will automatically and securely transition to Walgreens. No action is required of patients.

Patients will be able to fulfill prescriptions at local Walgreens locations the day following Evernorth Care Group pharmacy closures. Evernorth Care Group will communicate more information to patients about the transition, including pharmacy locations and timing.
There will be no onsite retail pharmacies once the Evernorth Care Group health care centers transition to HonorHealth.

Q: Where can I find more information about how my Evernorth Care Group prescriptions will transition (e.g., if my medications will still be available, medication costs, automatic refills, etc.)?

A: Please review the Evernorth Care Group FAQ for more information about the automatic, secure transition of prescriptions.

Q: How can I pay a bill from Evernorth Care Group before Jan. 1, 2026?

A: Prior to the transaction finalizing, patients should follow existing processes to view or pay their Evernorth Care Group bill:

If you have questions or need assistance, email the billing department at AZENCGBilling@evernorth.com.

Q: Who should I contact with questions about my care in the meantime?
