Breast Cancer Support Groups

Healing from breast cancer doesn't just happen physically. It needs to happen emotionally as well. At HonorHealth's Breast Health and Research Center, caring support groups provide an environment for emotional healing, strength and renewal.

You can choose the support group(s) that best meet your needs. You'll receive valuable information and encouragement and make a few new friends along the way.

Yoga for Recovery

Experience the physical as well as the emotional benefits of yoga. Invigorate your mind and body in this gentle yoga class tailored for breast cancer survivors. The class includes soothing stretching, meditation, relaxation and centering breath techniques to help reduce daily stress and boost overall immune function.

Yoga for Recovery meets from 6-8 p.m. every Wednesday evening in Room 400, Medical Office Building 1, 19841 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix, on the campus of Deer Valley Medical Center. Open to family and friends. No RSVP required. (No class on holidays.)

Meditation for Healing

This class introduces a variety of meditation techniques including visualization, breath work, positive affirmation and guided meditation.

Meditation for Healing meets from 6-7 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of the month in Room 400, Medical Office Building 1, 19841 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix, on the campus of Deer Valley Medical Center. Open to family and friends. No RSVP required. (No class on holidays.)

Breast Cancer Learn & Support Group

Those diagnosed with breast cancer can find support and learn from one another in this group. Sharing with others who have had similar experiences can reduce stress and anxiety. Discuss aspects of living with cancer, treatments, side effect management and survivorship.

Breast Cancer Learn & Support Group meets from 6-8 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of the month at the Breast Health and Research Center, 19646 N. 27th Ave., Suite 205, Phoenix. Open to family and friends, 18 and over. No RSVP required.

Look Good ... Feel Better!

Look Good ... Feel Better! is a non-medical public service program. It teaches beauty techniques to cancer patients to help you manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. Open to women undergoing chemotherapy, radiation or other forms of treatment. Co-sponsored by the American Cancer Society.

Look Good ... Feel Better! meets from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every other month (January, March, May, July, September and November) at the Breast Health and Research Center, 19646 N. 27th Ave., Suite 205, Phoenix. RSVP: Call 623-434-2784 or email us.

Cooking for Wellness

A registered dietician covers breast cancer-related nutrition topics during a cooking demonstration and tasting. It features meals loaded with antioxidants to help boost your immune system. Eating well also can help you maintain a healthy weight, reduce fatigue and increase energy throughout your cancer journey.
