Dr. Cummings' areas of focus include hip, knee, shoulder, total joint care and orthopedic oncology. He offers many specialized treatments, including robotics, injections, outpatient joint replacement, minimally invasive joint replacement, revision joint replacement and tumor surgery.
Dr. Cummings uses peripheral nerve blocks before surgery to mitigate pain, specialized cool compression braces for the hip and knee, and electrical stimulation to control swelling and inflammation following joint replacement. He uses a combination of topical medicines, non-narcotic medicines, anti-nausea medicines and IV hydration to minimize pain, nausea and headaches following surgery.
