Your care is our top priority: Update on cybersecurity event at Change Healthcare
A cybersecurity incident occurred on Wednesday, Feb. 21, and began disrupting systems and services at Change Healthcare, one of the largest healthcare technology companies in the U.S.
UnitedHealth Group and Change Healthcare are fully aware of the issue and working to restore the impacted areas while taking extra precautions to protect their partners and patients.
This was not a breach to HonorHealth’s computer systems.
However, functions at several areas at HonorHealth that depend on Change Healthcare have been impacted, and patients might notice some delays to printed and electronic billing statements, claim approvals and pre-authorizations from insurance companies. We are taking the necessary steps and safety precautions to alleviate as many of these delays as possible.
If you have questions about a statement or claim, you can send a message in MyChart, if you have a MyChart account, or you can contact our Billing Department at 623-300-9044.
Beware of healthcare fraud
To date, Change Healthcare has not made a formal statement or provided notice stating that this incident resulted in unauthorized access to or acquisition of patient data. However, out of an abundance of caution, you should never provide unknown callers with any personal information. If you receive a suspicious text, phone call, letter or email, please contact your insurance provider directly.
We are monitoring the situation and will continue to provide updates as it unfolds. Thank you for entrusting us with your care, and we appreciate your patience.
