Care philosophy

With spine surgery, the goal is to alleviate pain and restore function. Dr. Young sees this as a journey he and the patient take together. His treatment philosophy is highly patient-centric and involves a lot of shared decision-making strategies. He individualizes treatment approaches to each patient and their specific needs, conditions and concerns. His emphasis is on maximizing conservative and non-operative measures before discussing surgical options. If and when surgery is discussed and undertaken, Dr. Young uses a team-based approach with the patient actively involved in the decision-making process.
