About

Samedyar “Sam” Durrani, MD, was born and raised in the Midwest. He moved to the Valley in 2010 and established his thriving general surgery practice, Desert Surgical Specialists, which is in collaboration with HonorHealth. He is the vice chief of staff at HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center and currently serves as chief of the COVID-19 Task Force for the HonorHealth network.  

Outside of medicine, Dr. Durrani enjoys flying drones and spending time with his family, including his wife Angela and three children Samson, Samar and Shaan. He is also passionate about being a social advocate for those who are less fortunate.

Dr. Durrani prides himself in providing compassionate care for each patient. He follows a concierge-style practice that gives them access to medical services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including same-day appointments if necessary. Dr. Durrani is also known for his caring bedside manner and operative talent. His surgical care includes thorough preoperative evaluations and discussions to decide the best course of action unique to each patient.
