Letter from the chiefs
Dear Applicants,
We are so delighted that you're interested in the HonorHealth Internal Medicine Residency
Program, and we can't wait to tell you a little bit about why we love it here.
If there's one thing that defines our program, it's our focus on wellness. From day one, our co-
residents, attendings, and program leadership all work together to make sure residency feels
manageable, not overwhelming. We have built-in wellness days, easy access to mental health
resources, and a schedule designed with your well-being in mind. But honestly, some of the best
support comes from each other. Our residents are close friends both in and out of the hospital,
and that sense of community makes even the toughest call days feel a little lighter.
We're also fortunate to train alongside some truly excellent physicians who genuinely want to see
us grow. Our attendings give us real autonomy in patient care decisions while always being there
to teach, guide, and answer questions along the way. Whether it's bedside teaching, procedure
training, or pointing us toward a research project we're passionate about, our faculty are invested
in helping us become the best doctors we can be.
Education here goes beyond the wards. Between our didactic sessions, simulation labs, point-of-
care ultrasound training, and a wide variety of subspecialty rotations, you'll graduate from this
program feeling confident and well-prepared, whether your goal is fellowship or a career in general
medicine. Our residents have gone on to fellowships across the country, and our outpatient
continuity clinic gives you the chance to build real relationships with patients over time.
We also believe residents should have a voice, and we mean it. Through regular feedback sessions
and resident only town halls, residents are actively involved in making real changes to the program.
If something isn't working, we talk about it, and we fix it together.
A big part of our culture comes from our program director, Dr. Sall. She is an incredible educator
and advocate for residents, always pushing for new opportunities while making sure we feel
supported every step of the way.
And then there's Scottsdale itself! Beautiful desert views, year-round sunshine, and endless
options for hiking, dining, and exploring on your days off. After our Friday academic half-days, we
often grab dinner together, and many of those friendships carry on well outside the hospital.
We hope this gives you a sense of what makes our program special, and we'd love for you to feel as
excited about HonorHealth as we do. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to
reach out, we're always happy to chat!
Wishing you the very best of luck during this exciting time!
Warmly, The Chiefs
