Accreditation
HonorHealth Bariatric Center is a MBSAQIP Accredited Comprehensive Center with Adolescent. The national Center of Excellence accreditation is given by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the American College of Surgeons and represents the highest level of accreditation available in this specialty.
HonorHealth Bariatric Center has been nationally accredited continuously since 2005, the first year in which accreditation was offered. Accreditation means that the structure of the program (equipment, volume of cases and personnel), the process of care within the program (standardized care pathways) and the outcomes of surgery are established and audited. In addition, the integrated health team at HonorHealth Bariatric Center and the staff at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center in association with our administrative clinical team, strives to maintain the program in alignment with the cutting-edge of science and technology.
Safety and experience
Nothing is more important than protecting your safety. The HonorHealth Bariatric Center is an Accredited Comprehensive Center with Adolescent by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program. HonorHealth ranks in the top 10% in multiple categories in those programs.
The HonorHealth Bariatric Center features:
- Minimally invasive surgery options performed laparoscopically: gastric bypass, gastric sleeve (sleeve gastrectomy) and adjustable gastric band
- Revisions on surgeries performed elsewhere that did not get optimal results
- A stand-alone or pre-surgical weight loss program that's medically supervised
- Expert care for adolescents and for those with very high body mass indexes
