Nutrition and your recovery

Nutrition is an integral part of cancer therapy and survivorship. The goal is to improve your overall nutrition, promote healthy eating habits and enhance your well-being and quality of life. Eating well during treatment can help maintain your strength, preserve your body's nutrient stores, manage therapy side effects, improve immune function, speed recovery and promote overall health.

In addition to individual nutrition consultations, you can attend free group classes. Local chefs teach healthy cooking classes, demonstrating simple and delicious recipes that can be prepared easily at home.

You might be a perfect candidate for the nutritional counseling program if you answer yes to any of these questions:

  • Are you having difficulty eating because of side effects from a cancer treatment?
  • Have you experienced unwanted weight loss or gain?
  • Would you like to adopt eating habits to reduce risk?
  • Do you have questions about supplements?

Physician referral is recommended for individual nutritional counseling. Fees depend on the length and type of consultation required. Insurance coverage varies and will be determined on an individual basis. A financial counselor is available to help you with questions and verification of insurance coverage for services.
