Amputee and prosthetic therapy

At HonorHealth, we go beyond what's expected to provide the right care based on what's best for you. Using leading-edge therapy technology, the latest treatment techniques and prosthetic equipment innovations, our team will deliver the best possible care.

We offer specialized therapy services designed specifically for people who have experienced limb loss. You will work with our specially trained therapists who have years of experience with both upper and lower extremities.

Licensed therapists will evaluate you and your health history, discuss your therapy goals, and work closely with your provider and prosthetist to develop a treatment plan that’s made for you. Then, during each session, you will receive one-on-one care to help you make progress safely and quickly, and help you get back to doing what you love.

Services provided

HonorHealth strives to serve the community by providing treatment and management for those facing limb loss through the expertise of multidisciplinary clinicians. Our outpatient physical therapists collaborate closely with various members of an individual's care team such as prosthetists, wound care and vascular providers to better provide a continuum of care after limb loss.

Healing is a progressive process after limb loss. Our approach to patient care is unique to each individual with thoughts for goals and patient potential in mind. Our goal is to help patients maximize their functional independence, find emotional strength and confidence, and successfully transition back to home, work, and the community.

Our integrated approach focuses on the post-surgical, prosthetic, and reintegration phases to:

  • Address proper wound care and limb management
  • Increase strength, flexibility, coordination and endurance
  • Decrease pain and discomfort
  • Train individuals to use prostheses with confidence to avoid complications

Our physical therapists will perform a comprehensive assessment and a plan of care established with the patient, caregivers, and family to determine the best course of action for you to encourage return to the highest quality of life.
