Geriatric Medicine Fellowship

The HonorHealth Geriatric Medicine Fellowship is committed to improving the health and well-being of older adults throughout the HonorHealth community. Guided by the principles of an Age-Friendly Health System, the program incorporates the essential 4Ms framework—Medication, Mentation, Mobility, and What Matters Most—to ensure every geriatric patient receives individualized, compassionate, and high-quality care. Graduates of the HonorHealth Geriatric Medicine Fellowship develop the expertise and leadership skills needed to implement and champion this framework in diverse healthcare environments and communities.

This program is designed to prepare family medicine and internal medicine physicians to become exceptional geriatric clinicians, educators, consultants, and healthcare leaders. Fellows receive comprehensive clinical training and mentorship that prepares them for practice in a wide variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient care, long-term care, home-based care, academic medicine, and interdisciplinary healthcare systems. The program also emphasizes leadership development, teaching, and consultative expertise, equipping graduates to serve as trusted resources and innovators in geriatric care.

Application information

HonorHealth’s Geriatric Fellowship training program participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

The fellowship is open to graduates from either family medicine or internal medicine. We welcome applicants who are currently completing their training, and those who already have professional practice experience. The HonorHealth Geriatric Medicine Program uses the J-1 Visa program sponsored by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). HonorHealth does not sponsor H1-B visas for graduates of international medical schools. Graduates of Canadian medical schools must also use the J-1 program. Incoming J-1 visa fellows are required to obtain their J-1 visas before their training.
